Welcome Book

Jackson Hole forest and lake with mountains in the distance

Tammah: We.

The meaning of this Ute word is our purpose for existing. We aspire to help you forge lasting memories with the outdoors, and with self – all among good company. At Tammah, you’re bound to come together over the richness of surrounding nature by morning, the boundless adventures by midday, and the warm communal fire by night. And the plush king bed is a pretty good excuse to snuggle together, too. Our cozy canvas tents sit amongst towering pines, rolling hills and beside rocky mountains. You will be immersed in the nature experience without compromising the comforts that make this experience an absolute delight.

In this Welcome Book, you’ll find most of the important info about your Tammah stay. Should you have further questions, please review our FAQ on Tammah.co, or contact us before your stay at jacksonhole@tammah.co, or text/call +13072008782 anytime during your stay.

We are as excited about your arrival as you are!

– Team Tammah

Getting Here

From Jackson – Head west on Highway 22 towards Wilson/Teton Pass. Once you’ve crossed the Snake River, take the slight right onto Moose-Wilson Road (approx. 5.5 miles from Jackson). Drive another ~5 miles north on Moose-Wilson Road and you will see Tammah Jackson Hole located on your left! (If you make it to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, you’ve gone too far)

From Idaho/Teton Pass – Head east over Teton Pass into Wyoming (check road conditions and drive safe during Winter months) and make your way into the small town of Wilson, Wyoming. Make sure to abide by speed limits coming through Wilson and continue east towards Jackson approx. 3 miles. At the Highway 22/Moose-Wilson road junction, take a left and follow Moose-Wilson Road ~5 miles north and you will see Tammah – Jackson Hole on the left! As noted above, if you reach Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, you’ve gone a bit too far.

Please Note: If you type in “Tammah Jackson Hole” on google maps, it may or may not give directions. Another trick could be to follow directions to JHMR and just know that we are located about 1.5 miles south of the ski resort. Also – make sure your GPS doesn’t take you to “Tammah Yellowstone”, which is our other location a couple of hours away.

Self Check In

Let us know if you will be arriving after 9pm so that we can provide you with necessary information to check-in after hours!

Respect to Wildlife

One of the best things about Jackson Hole is the abundance of wildlife both large and small. To prevent furry visitors who did not pay the deposit, we ask that guests keep all food and beverages locked away inside your unit or inside your vehicles.

While it’s not everyday that we expect to have wildlife interactions on our property, we do know that it will happen from time to time. If you see wildlife nearby, we ask that you maintain a safe and respectful distance and avoid making loud noises or quick action towards visiting animals. While offsite, it is recommended to carry bear spray while exploring the neighboring backcountry areas. Tammah guests can rent bear at the welcome center and those who return their bear spray will receive a 100% refund on the rental.

Communal Campfire and S’mores

Depending on the season, we will keep a fire going each evening in the communal fire area. Feel free to drop by for complimentary s’mores each and every evening (weather dependent). Stop by the Welcome Center to check on weather forecasts and seasonal communal fire hours.

Adventure

lake with the mountain view

If the word ‘fly’ means more to you than airplanes, bring a rod. The nearby Snake River is one of the most famous fly-fishing trout streams in all of the United States, and it’s a quick drive from your Tammah Geodome. The world-renown Snake River flows through grassy, flowery meadows and glacially-carved valleys with deep pools and marshy banks that provide the perfect ecosystem for the native cutthroat trout.

A spiderweb of biking and hiking trails connect the Jackson Hole valley in the Summer. The bike path outside the resort connects you to Wilson, Jackson, and Grand Teton National Park. Ask us about our bike rentals during the summer months, which is an incredible way to explore our local communities. In the Winter, Jackson Hole becomes a completely different world of snow-covered fun. Bring your skis or snowboard and spend a day at one of the nearby resorts, or take a wildlife tour with one of our local partners! With an average of 400 inches of snow per year at our Jackson Hole location, there is endless opportunities to play and enjoy this winter wonderland.

As far as what to do onsite – we have an array of family games and activities available for all ages and interests. Get the group outside for a little friendly competition or participate in a vacation favorite: ‘vegging out’ after a long, adventurous day in the mountains. Don’t forget we will have a communal fire each evening (weather permitting) and have our own sauna and cold plunge for guests to enjoy. Done it all and ready for bed? Add an extra hour to your evening and rent a telescope from the welcome center for those star-y nights over the Tetons.
